Privacy Policy

Care information is personal. This policy explains what DoseNudge collects, why it is used, who can see it and the choices available to you.

Effective and last updated:

1. Who we are and how to contact us

DoseNudge was created by Anil Anand in India. In this policy, “DoseNudge”, “we” and “us” refer to Anil Anand and the DoseNudge service. This policy covers dosenudge.app, the DoseNudge web app, its WhatsApp reminders and support correspondence.

The contact for privacy questions, complaints and requests about personal information is Anil Anand at support@dosenudge.app. You can contact us even if you receive reminders without having an account.

2. Information we collect

  • Account and profile information: your name, email address, optional WhatsApp phone number, timezone and notification preferences. Our authentication provider, Supabase, processes your sign-in credentials and session information.
  • Care-circle information: circle names, members, roles and invitations; recipients’ names, relationships, phone numbers, timezones and recorded WhatsApp consent.
  • Medication and care records: medication names, strengths, doses, instructions, schedules, caregiver notes, dose confirmations, snoozes, skipped or unconfirmed doses, and a record of care changes. These records can reveal health information.
  • Messaging information: reminder destinations and content needed for delivery, delivery status, message identifiers, button responses and opt-out requests. Incoming free-text WhatsApp messages are processed to recognize opt-out requests; their text is not saved in our application database.
  • Technical and support information: session identifiers, operational and security logs, and the information you send to support. Hosting, authentication and email providers may also process IP addresses, browser information and email metadata to operate and secure their services.

3. Why we use information

We use this information to create and authenticate accounts, manage care circles and access permissions, schedule reminders, record responses, notify opted-in caregivers about unconfirmed doses, show care history and respond to support or privacy requests. We also use limited operational information to prevent misuse, investigate failures and keep the service working.

We do not sell personal information or use medication records for advertising. The app does not include advertising trackers or third-party marketing analytics.

4. Permission and WhatsApp choices

Only add another person’s information when you have their informed permission or lawful authority to act for them. Explain what DoseNudge does, what information will be shared and who belongs to the care circle, and share this policy with them. Do not enable WhatsApp reminders without the recipient’s permission. Caregiver alerts require a separate opt-in.

A recipient can reply STOP to a DoseNudge WhatsApp reminder to opt out. Caregivers can turn off their own WhatsApp alerts in account settings or reply STOP. An authorized caregiver can also disable a recipient’s reminders in the app. Messages already in transit may still arrive.

Stopping reminders does not delete existing care records. To withdraw permission for other uses of your information or request deletion, email support@dosenudge.app. We may need to stop the features that depend on that information.

5. Who receives information

  • Your care circle: members can see the recipients, medication schedules and dose history in their circle according to their role. Owners manage membership. Only invite people you trust with that information.
  • Service providers: Supabase provides authentication and database storage; Vercel hosts the website and API; Meta’s WhatsApp Cloud API delivers reminders and responses; Cloudflare routes messages sent to our support address to the support mailbox. Email services also process account emails and support correspondence.
  • Support and legal needs: Anil Anand and people authorized to help operate the service may access information when needed to resolve a request, maintain security or meet a legal obligation. We may disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect people’s rights and safety.

WhatsApp reminder content includes the recipient’s name, medication name and scheduled time. Caregiver alerts can contain this information too. Meta processes that content for delivery, and it may appear in device notifications or be visible to anyone with access to the receiving device. DoseNudge cannot erase copies already delivered to a phone.

Providers may process information outside India, depending on their infrastructure and the service configuration. Their handling of information is also described in their own policies: Supabase, Vercel, WhatsApp and Cloudflare.

6. Browser storage and security

The app uses browser storage to keep you signed in and remember your selected care circle. Supabase stores authentication session information in your browser. Clearing browser storage or signing out may require you to sign in again. We do not use advertising cookies.

We use HTTPS, authenticated access, care-circle permissions and database access controls to protect records. Access is limited according to account roles. No online service can guarantee absolute security; protect your account, email and devices, and tell us if you suspect unauthorized access.

7. Retention and deletion

Account information is kept while the account exists. Medication, schedule, dose and care activity records remain while their care circle exists. Archiving a family member or medication stops future reminders while preserving care history.

Circle owners can permanently delete a care circle from care-circle settings. This deletes its care records from the active application database. You can delete your account in account settings after transferring ownership or deleting circles where you are the only owner. Deleting your account removes your profile and memberships; it does not delete records still shared with other circle members.

During normal reminder processing, the service clears stored message payload details and worker summaries older than 30 days. Message identifiers, delivery metadata and care activity records remain with the circle to support history and prevent duplicate processing. This cleanup depends on the scheduled reminder service running.

Backups and service-provider logs may retain copies until they expire under the provider’s configured retention. Support correspondence is kept as needed to handle the request and any related legal obligations. Contact us about deletion of support emails or information entered about you by someone else.

8. Access, corrections and complaints

You can review and update your profile in account settings. Authorized circle members can correct recipient and medication details in the app. For a copy of your information, a correction you cannot make yourself, deletion, withdrawal of permission or a privacy complaint, contact Anil Anand at support@dosenudge.app.

Tell us what you need and provide the account email or reminder phone number needed to locate your records. We may verify your identity or authority before sharing or changing records and will explain any limitation on your request. Do not send passwords, one-time codes, Aadhaar, PAN or unnecessary medical documents. We handle requests in accordance with applicable law.

9. Children’s information

DoseNudge accounts are intended for adults aged 18 or older. Do not create an account for a child. If you manage care for someone under 18, you must be their parent or lawful guardian, or have the necessary permission from that parent or guardian. Contact us if you believe a child’s information has been added without appropriate authority so we can review and address it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service or its data practices change. The date above identifies the current version. Where required, we will provide notice or seek permission before a new use of personal information. See our Terms of Service for the conditions of using DoseNudge.
